They extract dangerous gaseous media which originate at a source inside the fume chamber and direct them to a processing unit for filtering or neutralisation. Another task for fume cupboards is to minimise disturbing influences as a result of air turbulence caused by the movement of personnel. EN 14175 has replaced DIN 12924 and defines the terms, dimensional criteria and type certification for fume cupboards. We operate our own test facilities for fume cupboards where certification tests are executed in full compliance with the new directive EN 14175.
